Writing

Picture
Ursula's Secret is my debut novel. I've recently completed a new novel set in Scotland and Spain which is now out on submission and I have started work on another. I also have an outline in development for a further book following an inspirational fortnight on a writing retreat in the Sahara in February this year. So many ideas, so little time...

I've had some short stories and poems published too, although I've given up writing these for the time being to focus on novels. I hope to do more in the future, though, and I've included a sample of each here.

Hope you enjoy.

Short Story
Flowers on the Flagstone

I wrote an early draft of this story in Spain. All that glorious sunshine must have made me pine for the wind and rain of the Outer Hebrides. I read the finished piece at Edinburgh International Book Festival's Story Shop one year, courtesy of Edinburgh City of Literature Trust, and it was also published in Worth the Wait, the anthology published to mark the inaugural Bloody Scotland crime writing festival.

Poem
That Day in Salamanca
